OPERATION LA PAZ
Upcoming Projects and Community Support in 2025 - 2026
Operation La Paz is thrilled to share updates on several newly approved projects that will support students, teachers, and families across La Paz and the surrounding communities. These initiatives address real, immediate needs in their classrooms and learning environments.
Classroom Improvements & Supplies - UPDATE: all have been recently completed as of November 2025!
Several schools will soon receive essential classroom furniture and equipment to support student learning:
Cervantes High School (Nursing Program): Two small air conditioners approved to improve classroom comfort for students.
Cervantes High School (English Lab): Six teacher desks and chairs purchased and scheduled for delivery.
Dr. Roberts Suazo Cordova School (Tutula): Delivery of 20 desks and two whiteboards approved.
Miguel Paz Barrahona School (Tutula): Approved delivery of 15 student desks and three whiteboards.
Julian Kinder School: Printers have been purchased for Julian Kinder and Victor schools.
Facilities & School Enhancements
We continue to invest in school environments that promote learning, safety, and creativity:
Baharona School: Porch rail improvements are complete, and a mural and new plantings have been approved to brighten the school grounds.
Mariano Vasques School: A computer project remains in progress and will move forward once structural updates at the school are complete.
Playground Projects – February 2026
One of our most exciting efforts ahead is building outdoor play areas at three schools: INFOP, Baharona, and Victor. These playground projects are fully approved and scheduled for February 2026, offering students safe, welcoming spaces to play, grow, and socialize.
Nurturing Fathers Program 2026
Operation La Paz will once again offer the Nurturing Fathers Program in March 2026 following the success of last year’s 13-week session.
Nine fathers graduated from the 2025 program, many sharing that they grew up without a father and found the group discussions meaningful and supportive. Several mothers also reported positive changes at home as the program progressed.
Teacher Jesús Castillo will return in 2026 to mentor the fathers and lead the class, building on the strong foundation created last year. We are grateful for the collaboration on this program with Pastor & Rosa Martinez.
Lunch Support at the Baharona School
We are excited to share a new community-led initiative at the Baharona school. Parents have offered to prepare lunches for students each day if Operation La Paz can supply staple ingredients such as beans and rice. We will also be providing safe, reusable food containers to support this effort.
This partnership is a wonderful example of how families and Operation La Paz can work together to meet students’ needs in a sustainable, respectful way.
Continuing Our Mission
These upcoming projects reflect Operation La Paz’s ongoing commitment to partnering with teachers, improving school environments, and strengthening communities. None of this would be possible without the generosity of our donors and supporters.
